Deck with Grab Bars
This stoop was quite dangerous and the owner of the home had fallen off it, injuring herself. Using the Massachusetts Home Modification Program for funding, she was able to hire us to design and build this small deck with proper stairs and hand rails on both sides. She now has easy and safe access into and out of her home, as well as a nice place to sit and enjoy her back yard. From Hazardous Stoop to a Safe Way to Enter this Home
Not having a platform in front of a door is extremely unsafe for anyone with mobility issues. In fact, it is now a building code requirement to have at least a 30” platform in front of any raised door on the outside of your home. We built a large platform and several wide steps over this concrete stoop to help this customer navigate into her side entry door safely.
